Samuel Miles Hopkins (9 May 1772-9 March 1837) was a member of the US House of Representatives (F-NY 21) from 1813 to 1815, preceding Micah Brooks and Peter Buell Porter.
Biography[]
Samuel Miles Hopkins was born in Salem, Connecticut in 1772, and he became a lawyer in Le Roy, Gennessee County, New York in 1793 and moved to New York City in 1794. He served in the US House of Representatives from 1813 to 1815, in the State Assembly from 1820 to 1821, in the State Senate in 1822, as Reporter of the New York Court of Chancery from 1813 to 1826, and as a judge of the state circuit court from 1832 to 1836. He died in 1837.
