Samuel Hooper

Samuel Hooper (3 February 1808-14 February 1875) was a US House of Representatives (R-MA 5) from 2 December 1861 to 3 March 1863 (succeeding William Appleton and preceding John B. Alley) and from MA-4 from 4 March 1863 to 14 February 1875 (succeeding Alexander H. Rice and preceding Josiah G. Abbott).

Biography[]

Samuel Hooper was born in Marblehead, Massachusetts in 1808, and he worked as a lawyer. He served in the State House from 1851 to 1853 and in the State Senate from 1858, and he later served in the US House of Representatives from 1861 to 1875. He died in office in 1875.
