Samuel Cushman

Samuel Cushman (8 June 1783-20 May 1851) was a member of the US House of Representatives (D-NH AL) from 4 March 1835 to 4 March 1839, succeeding Joseph M. Harper and preceding Ira Allen Eastman.

Biography[]

Samuel Cushman was born in Portsmouth, New Hampshire in 1783,and he practiced law before serving as judge of the Portsmouth police court, as county treasurer from 1823 to 1828, in the New Hampshire House of Representatives from 1833 to 1835, in the US House of Representatives from 1835 to 1839, and as a US Navy officer at Portsmouth from 1845 to 1849. He died in 1851.
