Salem bin Laden

Salem bin Mohammed bin Awad bin Laden (4 January 1946-29 May 1988) was a Saudi Arabian investor and businessman and a half-brother of Osama bin Laden.

Biography[]

Salem bin Mohammed bin Awad bin Laden was born in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia in 1946, a son of Mohammed bin Awad bin Laden and a half-brother of Osama bin Laden. He was educated in Millfield, Somerset, England and became the family patriarch on his father's death in a 1967 plane crash, and he was in charge of the family's income distribution. He provided economic support to the Saudi royal family during the Grand Mosque seizure of 1979, and he also became business partners with a partner of George W. Bush, James R. Bath, who became the handler of the Bin Laden family's American operations. Salem died when his plane collided with high-voltage power lines in Schertz, Texas in 1988.
