
Salem Apirdai (1937-1986) was a leader of the Mujahideen during the Soviet-Afghan War.
Biography[]
Salem Apirdai was a lowly bricklayer from Paktia Province in Afghanistan, but he became a leader of the Mujahideen during the Soviet-Afghan War. Apirdai was based in Khost alongside Mullah Rahman's faction, and in 1986 he was killed when the Soviet Union bombarded the base.
