Saint Materiana (430-500) was the daughter of Vortimer, the granddaughter of Vortigern, and the wife of Ynyr.
Biography[]
Materiana, born Madrun, was the eldest of King Vortimer of Gliwissig's three daughters, and she was wed to Ynyr, the son of King Dyfnwal ap Ednyfed (who succeeded her father). She became Queen of Gliwissig and Gwent from 450 and 453, respectively, as her husband's consort; she died in 500. Her sons were Iddon ap Ynyr and Caradoc.
