The Sadrist Movement is a Shia Islamist political party in Iraq that was founded in 2003 by Muqtada al-Sadr. The party drew wide support among poor Shi'ites across the country, and the movement was religious and populist. It supported the establishment of a society ordered by religious laws and tribal customs, and it was affiliated with the Alliance of Revolutionaries for Reform party.
