
Sadi Shad (born 17 April 1936) was a Shia Muslim cleric from Lebanon.
Biography[]
Sadi Shad was born on 17 April 1936 in Knisse, South Lebanon, Lebanon to a family of Shia Muslim Arabs. Shad became an imam after attending a religious school, and he was influential in teaching the young Shi'ites of Knisse. During the Lebanese Civil War, he inspired people from his village to join the Amal Movement in the struggle against Israel and Syria. Shad assisted in the resistance to foreign occupation, and after the war's end, he returned to his village.
