
Sadegh Omidzadeh (died 20 January 2024) was an Iranian IRGC Brigadier General and Quds Force intelligence officer. Omidzadeh served in the Syrian Civil War, during which he was captured by the Free Syrian Army at the Damsacus Airport in 2012 before being released after Qatari mediation. During the Israel-Hamas War, he planned attacks on American forces in Syria, specifically focusing on Humvee and Cougar armored vehicles within Syrian territory. He and three other IRGC officers were killed in an Israeli airstrike in Damascus while meeting with Hezbollah arms traffickers in January 2024.
