Sa'd ibn Mu'adh (died 627) was a sahabah of Muhammad.
Biography[]
Sa'd ibn Mu'adh was the chief of the Banu Aus tribe of Medina, and he adopted Islam in 622 when Muhammad arrived in Medina. He was one of the first people from Medina to convert to Islam, and he used to be a close friend of the pagan Quraysh ruler Umayyah ibn Khalaf. At the Battle of Badr, Sa'd fought bravely, and he was among the small contingent of Muslims to defend Muhammad at the Battle of Uhud when Khalid ibn al-Walid counterattacked. In 627, he was mortally wounded at the Battle of the Trench, and he died shortly after.
