Sa'ad bin Atef al-Awlaki was the Emir of al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula from March 2024, succeeding Khalid Batarfi. He previously served as Emir of Shabwah during the Yemeni Civil War, and he succeeded Batarfi on his death in 2024.
