The SS Kroonland was an American ocean liner in service from 1902 to 1907. Built in Philadelphia, she was the largest steamship ever built in America on her launch, and she was affiliated with the International Mercantile Marine before being detained by British authorities at Gibraltar in October 1914 during World War I. She was later armed by the US Navy for defense against German submarine attacks, and she was struck and lightly damaged by a torpedo in May 1917. She was badly damaged in a shipyard fire in January 1920 while being refitted for passenger service, and she later traveled between New York City and San Francisco before being sold and scrapped at Genoa in 1927.
