The SS America was an ocean liner and cruise ship built in the United States in 1940. Launched in 1939 after being built at Newport News, the ship served the United States Lines and was sold with the intention of being refitted to become a hotel ship. While being towed to Thailand, she was wrecked in the Canary Islands on 18 January 1994 and became an artificial reef by 2024.
