Rypere (died 886) was one of Uhtred of Bebbanburg's household troops during the late 9th century. He was trained by Uhtred alongside the Danish warrior Clapa, and his nickname Rypere meant "thief"; he was originally a member of King Guthred of Northymbre's household troops. He fought alongside Uhtred at the Battle of Dunholm and several other battles in Northumbria. In 886, he and Sihtric were sent to spy on the Vikings at Beamfleot, and he returned with news that Aethelflaed, their captive, was alive. He was later slain at the Battle of Beamfleot.
