Rusty Millio (3 May 1934 - 21 August 2006) was a capo in the Lupertazzi crime family. In 2006, acting boss Johnny Sacrimoni had Millio murdered by the DiMeo crime family to prevent another power struggle from occurring upon Sacrimoni's return to prison.

Biography[]

Rusty Millio was born in New York City, New York on May 3rd 1934 to a family of Italian descent, and he became a made member of the Lupertazzi crime family. Millio lived on 134 Deweunter Terrace in Brooklyn with his wife Gianna, and he lived a comfortable lifestyle as a respected capo. When Carmine Lupertazzi died in 2004, Millio was offered the title of boss, but he declined, a decision that he came to regret.

Millio instead supported Carmine Lupertazzi Jr., and he was the man who hired Tony Blundetto to kill Joey Peeps. Since the truce and Sacrimoni's arrest, Millio refused to be in the same room as, or take orders from, Phil Leotardo, and Sacrimoni feared that Millio would seize control of the family after his return to prison. At his daughter's wedding, Sacrimoni decided to speak with DiMeo crime family boss Tony Soprano about whacking Millio.

Millio being shot in his car

Soprano decided to have the Camorra assassins Italo and Salvatore flown in from Naples; the "tailors" were sent to "fit for a suit" Rusty (to kill him). One afternoon, the Camorristi blocked Millio's driveway, and Italo approached Millio's car as Millio and his driver Eddie Pietro prepared to leave. Italo pretended to be an Italian tourist asking for directions, and as Italo had Millio and Pietro give him directions to the Brooklyn Museum on his map, Salvatore approached the driver's side of the car. Salvatore proceeded to shoot Pietro in the head before shooting at Millio, who was also shot by Italo. Millio's death ensured that there would be no civil war following Sacrimoni's imprisonment.
