Rustam Asildarov

Rustam Asildarov (9 March 1981 – 3 December 2016), also known as Emir Abu Muhammad Kadarsky, was Wali of Wilayat Kavkaz under the Islamic State from June 2015 to December 2016 (preceding Aslan Byutukayev, formerly leading Vilayat Dagestan from 8 August 2012 to January 2015 after Ibragimkhalil Daudov and before Said Kharakansky.

Biography[]

Rustam Asildarov was born on 9 March 1981 in the Kalmyk ASSR of the Soviet Union, and he grew up in the Buynaksky District of Dagestan. He joined Vilayat Dagestan during the Insurgency in the North Caucasus and became the group's central sector leader in May 2010; on 8 August 2012 he became the group's overall commander, succeeding Ibragimkhalil Daudov. In December 2014 he pledged allegiance to Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi of the Islamic State and abandoned Aliaskhab Kebekov's Caucasus Emirate, and Said Kharakansky was appointed to succeed Asildarov as Vilayat Dagestan's leader as he forme the Wilayat Kavkaz province of ISIS. On 6 March 2016 he appeared for the first time in an ISIS video, showing his appearance on camera. On 3 December 2016, the FSB killed Asildarov and four others in an anti-terror raid near Makhachkala, Dagestan.
