Rufus Buck was a Muscogee Indian of the Wild West. In 1875, he and a few other Indian and white outlaws traveled to Fort Smith, Arkansas to confront the judge Isaac Charles Parker over the death of his brother, which he blamed on Parker. However, the posseman Bass Reeves arrived in time to prevent Parker's murder, and he shot Buck's accomplices before letting the young Buck flee.
