Rue Notre-Dame-des-Champs

The Rue Notre-Dame-des-Champs is a street in the 6th arrondissement of Paris, France which begins on the Rue de Vaugirard and ends on the Avenue de l'Observatoire. Named for the Notre-Dame-des-Champs chapel, which became home to the first community of Carmelites in 1604, the Rue Notre-Dame-des-Champs once passed through the fields and vineyards of Montparnasse. During the French Revolution, the street was briefly given the secular name of Rue de la Montagne des Champs before being renamed to its original name.
