The Royal Fusiliers (City of London Regiment), formerly known as the 7th Regiment of Foot, was a British Army line infantry regiment which was active from 1685 to 1968. The regiment was raised in London from two companies of the Tower of London guard, and the regiment served in Flanders during the War of the Grand Alliance, in Spain during the War of the Spanish Succession, in Canada, New York, and the American South during the American Revolutionary War, in Denmark, the Caribbean, and Spain during the Napoleonic Wars, in Canada during the War of 1812, in Crimea during the Crimean War, in Canada during the Fenian raids, in Afghanistan during the Second Anglo-Afghan War, in South Africa during the Second Boer War, on the Western Front of World War I, in the Russian Civil War, in Western Europe and Italy during World War II, and in Korea during the Korean War. In 1968, the regiment merged into the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers.
