Rosalind Russell

Rosalind Russell (4 June 1907-28 November 1976) was an American actress from Waterbury, Connecticut. Born to an Irish Catholic family, she became a fashion model before becoming a Broadway actress and then a Hollywood actress during the 1930s. She won five Golden Globes, a Tony Award for Wonderful Town in 1953, and received four Academy Award nominations. Russell was a prominent Hollywood Republican, endorsing Richard Nixon during his 1960 presidential bid. She died in 1976 at the age of 69.
