Roque Estrada Reynoso

Roque Estrada Reynoso (16 August 1883 – 27 November 1966) was a Mexican politician during the Mexican Revolution.

Biography[]

Roque Estrada Reynoso was born in Moyahua, Zacatecas, Mexico in 1883, the brother of Enrique Estrada. He was initially affiliated with Ricardo Flores Magon's movement before joining the Anti-Reelectionist Party, and he established several Anti-Reelectionist clubs before the Mexican Revolution broke out in 1910. In 1913, he attempted to fight the usurpation of Francisco I. Madero's presidency, but he was captured by Victoriano Huerta's forces. He later joined Venustiano Carranza's movement, becoming a Brigadier-General and his Justice Secretary in 1915. In 1920, he failed to prevent the confrontation between Carranza and Alvaro Obregon, and, in 1923, he may have been involved in Adolfo de la Huerta's revolt, for which his brother was banished. He became a deputy in 1929, served as President of the Supreme Court in 1952, and died in 1966.
