Roger Marshall

Roger Marshall (9 August 1960-) was a member of the US House of Representatives (R-KS 1) from 3 January 2017 to 3 January 2021 (succeeding Tim Huelskamp and preceding Tracey Mann) and a US Senator from Kansas from 3 January 2021 (succeeding Pat Roberts).

Biography[]

Roger Marshall was born in El Dorado, Kansas in 1960, and he served for seven years in the US Army Reserve before becoming Chairman of the Board of Great Bend Regional Hospital and a district governor of Rotary International. Marshall was elected to the US House of Representatives in 2016, and he supported mostly conservative views, although he supported incentivizing renewable energy. In 2020, he ran for US Senate to succeed the retiring incumbent Republican Senator Pat Roberts, facing Democratic challenger Barbara Bollier in an unusually competitive race. He ultimately won the election with 53.6% of the vote.
