Roberto Ghillotti

Roberto Ghillotti (2 May 1885 - 2 May 1935) was an Italian-American city councilor for Chicago, Illinois, and was in the pocket of Don Marcu Morello of the Chicago Morello crime family. Ghillotti's son, Billy, became a gang leader in Chinatown, and was eventually killed by Salieri crime family soldatos Tommy Angelo and Paulie Lombardo for attempting to kill Angelo and rape Sarah Marino the previous night.

His son's death drew Ghillotti's ire towards the Salieris, beginning a campaign targeting organized crime. However, this did not target the Morellos, only hurting Don Ennio Salieri and his business. As Salieri wanted to turn the city against Morello, he wanted to send a message to the corrupt city officials that sticking with Morello will be a bad choice to make. Salieri would accomplish this task by sending Angelo to whack Ghillotti during his 50th birthday on the Chicago Queen steamboat.

Angelo infiltrated the Chicago Queen as a sailor, retrieving a gun that a paid-off crew member left behind a toilet. He then climbed to the top of the steamboat and waited until Ghillotti's anti-crime speech was done to shoot him in the head. This quickly caused panic, though Angelo managed to fight through Morello's men and escape by cigarette boat.
