Robert Wilson (November 1803-10 May 1870) was a US Senator from Missouri (U) from 17 January 1862 to 13 November 1863, succeeding Waldo P. Johnson and preceding B. Gratz Brown.
Biography[]
Robert Wilson was born in Staunton, Virginia in 1803, and he moved to Howard County, Missouri in 1820. He became the probate judge of Howard County in 1825, fought in the 1838 Mormon War as a Brigadier-General, and became a lawyer in 1840. He went on to serve in the state legislature, and Wilson served in the US Senate from 1862 to 1863 as a Unionist. He left office in 1863 when a successor to the expelled senator Waldo P. Johnson was elected.
