
Robert Raymond Reid (8 September 1789-1 July 1841) was a member of the US House of Representatives (DR-GA AL) from 18 February 1819 to 3 March 1823 (interrupting John Forsyth's terms) and the Democratic Governor of the Florida Territory from 2 December 1839 to 19 March 1841 (interrupting Richard K. Call's terms).
Biography[]
Robert Raymond Reid was born in Beaufort, South Carolina in 1789, and he became a lawyer in Augusta, Georgia before serving as a judge at the city and state levels and serving in the US House of Representatives from 1819 to 1823. He served as President Martin Van Buren's Governor of the Florida Territory from 1839 to 1841, and he died four months later.
