Robert Hanley (1859 - 29 July 1900) was a British marines captain in Peking during the Boxer Rebellion.
Biography[]
Hanley was born in England in 1859. In 1900, he was the captain of the British Royal Marines in Peking. He took part in the Siege of Peking defending the British Embassy. He died when the artillery cannon called "Betsy" exploded and blasted him.
