Robert H.M. Davidson

Robert Hamilton McWhorta Davidson (23 September 1832-18 January 1908) was a member of the US House of Representatives (D-FL 1) from 4 March 1877 to 3 March 1891, succeeding William J. Purman and preceding Stephen Mallory II.

Biography[]

Robert Hamilton McWhorta Davidson was born in Quincy, Florida in 1832, and he became a lawyer in 1853 and served in the state house from 1856 to 1859 and in the state senate from 1860 to 1862. He served as a lieutenant-colonel in the Confederate States Army during the American Civil War, after which he served in the US House of Representatives from 1877 to 1891. He died in 1908.
