
Robert Brown (25 December 1744 – 26 February 1823) was a member of the US House of Representatives (DR-PA 4) from 1798 to 1803, from PA-2 from 1803 to 1813 (succeeding Michael Leib and preceding Roger Davis), and from PA-6 from 1813 to 1815 (succeeding William Crawford and preceding John Ross).
Biography[]
Robert Brown was born in Weaversville, Northampton County, Pennsylvania in 1744, and he worked as a blacksmith both before his American Revolutionary War service and during his captivity following his capture at Fort Washington in 1776. He was paroled in 1777, and he served in the State Senate from 1783 to 1787 and in the US House of Representatives from 1798 to 1815. Brown died in 1823.
