Robert D. Bowers was an American white supremacist who murdered 11 people in an attack on a Pittsburgh synagogue on 27 October 2018.
Biography[]
Robert D. Bowers was born in Baldwin, Pennsylvania, and he became a white supremacist, neo-Nazi, and Holocaust denier. He claimed that the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society (HIAS) liked to "bring invaders in that kill(ed) our people", and he also claimed that Donald Trump was a globalist instead of a nationalist, and that he was controlled by Jews. Bowers decided to attack the Tree of Life Conservative Jewish synagogue in the Squirrel Hill neighborhood of Pittsburgh on 27 October 2018, entering the synagogue with an AR-15 and multiple handguns. He shouted, "All Jews must die" before opening fire on the congregants, killing 11 people and injuring at least 6. He was subdued and captured by the police, and he was taken to the hospital. On 3 August 2023, he was sentenced to death by lethal injection.
