River Row is a neighborhood of New Orleans, Louisiana. The area, located along the Mississippi River, was a working-class neighborhood of the city, and it was once a major manufacturing center. During the 1960s, it faced the poorest conditions among the New Orleans neighborhoods, and it was run by Vito Scaletta's organization under the watch of the Marcano crime family, later replaced by Lincoln Clay's Black Mob. River Row's labor union extortion and contraband smuggling rackets would become major rackets for the Mob.
