Ricsige of Chippenham

Ricsige of Chippenham (1047-1066) was an Anglo-Saxon thegn from Wiltshire who led a rebellion against the English authorities in Chippenham in late 1066. While England was concurrently being conquered by the Normans, Ricsige nonetheless decided to lead a rebellion against his fellow Saxons. He was ultimately slain in battle with Aelfwald, and his rebellion was crushed.
