Richard Whitewater (1845-) was an Australian fur trader and explorer who lived in Tasmania during the late 19th century. In 1886, he and Tobin Gibson joined Daniel Pry's expedition to explore the interior of Tasmania, founding several frontier outposts along the way. He and Gibson also participated in the destruction of an Aboriginal village to the southwest of Gibson Post to secure control of the area for European settlement.
