
Richard Jacobs Haldeman (19 May 1831-1 October 1886) was a member of the US House of Representatives (D-PA 15) from 4 March 1869 to 3 March 1873, succeeding Adam John Glossbrenner and preceding John Alexander Magee.
Biography[]
Richard Jacobs Haldeman was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania in 1831, and he served as a diplomat in Paris, St. Petersburg, and Vienna before purchasing the Daily and Weekly Patriot and Union and editing it until 1860. He served as a delegate to the 1860 Democratic National Convention, and then in the US House of Representatives from 1869 to 1873. Haldeman died in 1886.
