Richard Hampton Vose (8 November 1803-19 January 1864) was the Whig Governor of Maine from 12 to 13 January 1841, succeeding John Fairfield and preceding Edward Kent.

Biography[]

Richard Hampton Vose was born in Northfield, Massachusetts in 1803, and he graduated from Bowdoin College in Maine and served in the state legislature throughout the 1820s and 1830s, and in the State Senate from 1840 to 1841. He served as Governor for two days in 1841, and he died in 1864.
