Richard Burden

Richard Burden (born 1 September 1954) was the Labour MP for Birmingham Northfield from 9 April 1992 to 12 December 2019, succeeding Roger King and preceding Gary Sambrook.

Biography[]

Richard Burden was born in Liverpool, Lancashire, England in 1954, and he was President of the Students' Union in 1976 before serving as the branch organiser in North Yorkshire in the National and Local Government Officers' Association from 1979 until his election to the House of Commons as the Labour MP for Birmingham Northfield in 1992. He was defeated for re-election by the Conservative Party candidate Gary Sambrook in 2019.
