Richard Brodhead (5 January 1811-16 September 1863) was a member of the US House of Representatives (D-PA 10) from 4 March 1843 to 3 March 1849, succeeding William Simonton and preceding Milo M. Dimmick, and a US Senator from 4 March 1851 to 3 March 1857, succeeding Daniel Sturgeon and preceding Simon Cameron.
Biography[]
Richard Brodhead was born in Lehman Township, Pennsylvania in 1811, and the family moved to Easton in 1830. Brodhead became a lawyer in 1836 and served in the state legislature before serving as a member of the US House of Representatives from 1843 to 1849 and in the US Senate from 1851 to 1857. He died in 1863.
