Riad al-Assad (Amal)

Riad al-Assad was an Amal Movement resistance leader during the Lebanese Civil War. On 11 April 1985, he was interviewed by British Thames Television in the aftermath of an Israeli assault on the village of Zariya (which the Israelis saw as a hornet's nest of terrorism), and he stated that his only goal was to force the Israelis to leave South Lebanon and that he was confident that the resistance would be victorious.
