The Republican National Committee (RNC) is a US political committee that provides leadership for the conservative Republican Party. Since its foundation in 1856, the RNC has promoted and developed the Republican political platform, coordinated fundraising and election strategy, and has organized and run the Republican National Convention. Smaller RNC committees exist in every US state and in most of the United States' counties, organizing political activity on both national and local scales.
