The Renegade Indians were fighting war party bands of hot-headed Native American hostile braves "warriors" who refused to be imprisoned on the reservations and to those who continued to practice their “pagan” religions. Thus, chosen not to go along with treaties from the United States government, and began continued on raiding white settlers and ranchers of their settlements into the Great Plains to the Southwest. It will be made clear that these renegades are not representative of their own tribes who had indeed agreed with the treaty boundaries, it was also well known that young hungry natives got very restive and combative when broking out of their reservation. After the end of the Indian wars from the Apache, Sioux, Cheyenne, and the Comanches. the survivors of hostile raiding bands remained together, and began a series of thefts and murders. In 1911, Dutch van der Linde recruited many of the braves to join his new gang after the fall of the Van der Linde gang in 1899.
