Remanzo

Remanzo is a mountainous province of western Bolivia, with Marcavi serving as its capital. Remanzo is located in the mountain chain near the Altiplano, and its arid environment made it a poor region. The principal industries were sheep breeding and potato growing, and Remanzo benefited from a national program that gave the province an irrigation network, as it increased the farmable surface and peasants' revenue and allowed for Bolivia to switch from coca production to potato growing as part of Plan Dignidad. During the Bolivian Drug War, the province was taken over by the Santa Blanca Cartel, and El Gato packaged cocaine in Remanzo before its shipment. El Gato used a quinoa factory to box a complement of cocaine for every 500 grams of quinoa, throwing drug-sniffing dogs off the scent of each box. Remanzo was also home to the Electro energy drink's factory, which exported liquid cocaine bottles to Brazil. A clinic in Marcavi also worked with the cartel, planting balloons filled with cocaine in "volunteers" who would fly to Brazil to offload their drugs. The province was liberated by American special forces and Kataris 26 in 2019.
