The Regensburg Soviet was a short-lived German socialist republic that existed in Regensburg, Bavaria from 3 to 26 October 1919 at the time of the German Revolution. The soviet was proclaimed by workers loyal to the Communist Party of Germany, with Florian Ludendorff being elected as its chairman. The soviet was protected by the 3,000-strong Red Guards, who were crushed by Erwin von Reuter's 24,000-strong Reichswehr army on 26 October 1919.
