Reed Larrimore (1809-1905) was an American lawman and frontier legend who was famous for being the "Hero of the Battle of San Jacinto". He was respected by Sam Houston himself. Larrimore was a sheriff in Nevada in 1866 during the Wild West era. He was also active during the Texas Revolution. Larrimore eventually became all washed up and largely forgotten about until a writer by the name of Tobias Wentworth Finch started boosting his ego by writing stories about him, basically controlling Larrimore, going so far as to set up a wanted prisoner named Gus Pickard to die in a gunfight, but Adam Cartwright talked Gus into surrendering, who got Larrimore's thanks. After Adam told Larrimore about Tobias Wentworth Finch's actions, Larrimore punches Finch and throws away the story about him, and walks off, and later arrests Finch for helping Pickard escape, leading to the death of his deputy in 1866.
