The Redones were an ancient tribe of Gaul which inhabited Armorica; Condate (now Rennes) was their capital. The Redones lived along the Loire River, next to the Senones, and the Redones took part in Vercingetorix's failed 52 BC uprising against the Roman general Julius Caesar, after which they were subdued. Rennes is named for them.
