Bozidar Delic

Rasim Delic (4 February 1949-16 April 2010) was Chief of Staff of the ARBiH during the Bosnian War.

Biography[]

Rasim Delic was born in Celic, SR Bosnia and Herzegovina, SFR Yugoslavia in 1949, and he entered the Yugoslav People's Army in 1967. From 1980 to 1984, he commanded an artillery division in Sarajevo, and he served as chief of operations of the 4th Corps of the JNA in Sarajevo from 1990 to 1992. That year, he joined the ARBiH, the military of Bosnia and Herzegovina. In 1993, Delic prevented the collapse of the Bosnian army during the Bosnian War, and he rose to be Chief of Staff of the ARBiH. He served in the federation army until his 2000 retirement, and he was sentenced to three years in prison for war crimes in 2008. He died in his apartment in Sarajevo in 2010.
