Ramon de Galvez (1740-1785) was a Spanish Army colonel who commanded the 3rd Regiment of Horse in Spanish Louisiana during the 1780s. In 1784, he led an expedition into Tennessee with the objective of capturing the Cherokee capital of Tellico, but his expedition was attacked by a larger Cherokee army and nearly annihilated at the Vonore massacre. He and the few remaining survivors fled north and raided the Lost Creek plantations before being tracked down and killed to the last man in the summer of 1785.
