Ralph Capone

Raffaele James "Ralph" Capone (12 January 1894-22 November 1974) was a Chicago Outfit associate and the brother of Al Capone and Frank Capone.

Biography[]

Raffaele James Capone was born on 12 January 1894 in Angri, Campania, Italy, and he came to the United States when he was just a year old. In 1920, after the death of his father Gabriele Capone, Ralph followed his brothers Alphonse and Frank to Chicago, and he became the boss of the Chicago Outfit's ginger ale and soda water bottling plants. During 1933, he was the second-best-selling soft drink vendor at the World Fair after Coca-Cola, and he would be jailed for tax evasion that same year. After his release from prison in 1935, he moved to Wisconsin, and he died in Hurley, Wisconsin in 1974 at the age of 80.
