The Raid on the Ocoro combat outpost occurred in 2019 when a team of four US Ghost Recon special forces operatives infiltrated a Bolivian UNIDAD combat outpost in Ocoro department to steal back a truck loaded with vaccines bound for Kataris 26.
Just before Santa Blanca Cartel buchon Gonzalo Yana ordered the attempted takeover of the Ocoro Hospital (intending on transforming it into a cocaine lab), doctor Luis Fernández Gutierrez and the Kataris 26 rebels loaded a truck with vital medicines and tried to get them to safety. However, Unidad stopped the truck at a checkpoint and confiscated it, and Kataris 26 leader Pac Katari asked Major Anthony Perryman and his squad to locate hte truck, steal it, and take it to the rebels for redistribution to the peasantry.
The Americans took a helicopter to the combat outpost before infiltrating on foot, silently taking out the watchtower and perimeter guards. As the Ghost Recon team arrived at night, most of the guards were busy eating at the dining hall. To initiate the battle, Perryman threw a grenade into the dining hall, killing several soldiers and alerting the remainder. The base was put on full alert, and Bolivian soldiers even tried to fire mortars at the Americans as they advanced on their positions. Perryman was able to neutralize the mortar pit and steal the truck, and, to avoid Unidad reinforcements, Perryman drove the truck down a rocky cliffside before heading along the highway, up a hillside dirt road, and to a rebel camp, where the vaccines were offloaded by Kataris 26 allies.
