Rafiqa bint Salim (born 1 July 868) was the third child and firstborn daughter of Emir Salim Iqritishi. Her mother was Zenobia, a Greek convert to Islam, and, while Rafiqa was raised a Sunni Muslim Andalusian, she bore her mother's Greek resemblance. On 27 July 881, the 13-year-old Rafiqa was betrothed to the 34-year-old Caliph al-Mu'tazz, and she married him in 884.
