Quan Rou (155-190 AD) was a general of the Han dynasty during the late 2nd century AD.
Biography[]
Quan Rou was born in Qiantang County, Wu Commandery in 155 AD, and he served the Han dynasty as Chief Provisioner, Chief Commandant of Danyang, Chief Clerk, and Governor of Guiyang. In 190 AD, he was sent by Dong Zhuo to slay Sun Jian in battle near Jiangling, and the two armies met at the Battle of Longwan. In the ensuing battle, Sun Jian's numerically-superior infantry force charged Quan Rou's infantry, while a cavalry force under Huang Gai charged the Han army's rear. Before the battle, Sun Jian challenged Quan rou to a duel, and Sun Jian - by far the superior warrior - stabbed Rou through the face with his blade, killing him.
