Qasim Abood

Qasim Abood (17 June 1947-25 August 1989) was a PLO official who was assassinated during Operation Wrath of God.

Biography[]

Qasim Abood was born on 17 June 1947 in Asira al-Shimaliyah, West Bank, Mandatory Palestine to a Sunni Muslim family. Abood joined Fatah in 1968 and became an official of the Palestine Liberation Organization in Zurich, Switzerland during the 1970s, managing PLO bank accounts. Accused of funding the 1972 Munich Massacre, he was tracked down by Israel's Mossad. On 25 August 1989, he was killed when a pressure-cooker bomb exploded in his car as he left a bank in Zurich.
